No more of the hassle of owning a car. Just pay for what you use. A multimodal mobility subscription. Problem-free travel. Everything in one place. UbiGo.
UbiGo offers urban households a multimodal mobility subscription as an alternative to owning a car. Users have access to public transport, rental cars, car-sharing, taxis and bicycles according to your needs. Everything is in one app with one bill for the whole household.
UbiGo was born out of the very successful pilot program in Gothenburg. We are now relaunching in Stockholm in partnership with the platform provider Fluidtime and mobility service providers such as SL (regional), Cabonline, Hertz and Move About. The relaunch was made possible by SL opening up to digital reselling and bundling of services, along with support from the EU H2020 project CiViTAS Eccentric and with the City of Stockholm as site owner.
UbiGo is a pioneer in what is now known as Mobility as a Service (MaaS), which has become a much-publicized, and in some cases hyped, trend in many countries. We are part of the new mobility paradigm – how people get around in large cities and how organizations meet their travel needs. We contribute to making people, cities and the environment healthier.
Supporting local MaaS–operators
In October 2017, UbiGo Innovation AB and Fluidtime AG (part of Kapsch) announced a new collaborative venture. Fluidtime provides the technical platsforms FluidHub and FluidBiz, based on UbiGo specifications, for the Stockholm pilot program. Working together, the two companies will offer a franchise concept for potential MaaS-operators in cities outside the Nordic market.
UbiGo has attracted enormous interest all over the world and UbiGo Innovation is aiming to support local partners in establishing UbiGo-like services (or MaaS – Mobility as a Service) in urban areas. It is our firm belief that while customer needs and the offer will be quite similar in all large cities, the conditions will be quite different, which will require local partners to run the actual service. With a scalable, international IT-platform and the required knowledge, network and brand recognition, UbiGo Innovation can provide the necessary kick-start.
Supporting the global MaaS community
UbiGo is participating in the EU H2020 project IMOVE, supporting the development of MaaS services in five other European locations, including Gothenburg. UbiGo is a member of DriveSweden and we have shared our insights at several conferences in Europe and the USA. The founder of UbiGo is a member of the Swedish Government´s Innovation Partnership Programme for next-generation transport and travel, and he is lead trainer for UITP MaaS training.
UbiGo received the Promising Innovation Award from the OECD International Transport Forum.
The Gothenburg pilot scheme
In our pilot program in Gothenburg, 70 paying households relied on UbiGo for their everyday travel under real conditions for six months. Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology have published several papers based on the highly detailed evaluation.
